Sash Window Refurbishment
Whilst refurbishing timber sash windows for our client in the Monkstown estate, another client approached us to fully refurbish two front bay windows and main front door in the same neighborhood. We were delighted to take this project as this is what we constantly do at RepairSashWindows.ie.
Sash windows and bay window frames needed some splice repairs but exterior panelling with mouldings were completely rotten.
We stripped paints down where necessary to better assess the decay, removed rotten sections of the frames and a whole panelling, insulated panelling area, spliced in new elements of Accoya hardwood to bay window frames and fitted new panelling with mouldings in Tricoya hardwood which both woods are 50 year guarantee against rot. All new splice repairs and panelling were made precisely identical to match original. Then we draught-proofed the windows, replaced cords, adjusted existing weights, fully painted and fitted new brass fittings.
Once windows were completed we draught proofed the front door, adjusted and realigned the margins, supplied and fitted new saddleboard and varnished in clear colour and fully painted in gorgeous yellow colour.
