Another house with timber sash windows at front and rear in a protected area. Our client, in consultation with a Conservation Architect, asked us to repair, refurbish, draught proof and paint the windows internally and externally.

We have replaced rotten sections with new elements of Accoya hardwood to match the existing, which is a sustainable wood and is guaranteed against rot for 50 years. Draught-proofed the windows with new brushes, replaced cords and re-balanced the weights while retaining and conserving historic single glazing.

Once the sashes and frames were repaired, we hand-painted them in the client's chosen colour and completed them by installing new polished brass fittings.
